The exhibition “Movies on the mind. Psychology and Film since Sigmund Freud” will be opened on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of Vienna psychoanalyst. Starting with the Filmmuseum Berlin it will be presented in Los Angeles, Vienna and Hongkong as well. It is dedicated to the presentation of psychological phenomenia in films. What do we experience in the cinema? What szenes cause our crying? Is the firm perception similar to our dreams? 18 leading people of film, culture, psychology, psychanalayse and explorers of our brain examine these and futher questions. We develop the Graphic Concept for the Catalogue and the Book on the exhibition and service the Design and production control.
Lead pages introduce topics like dream, repression, ecstasy, narzism and voyeurism with full-page images.
The three leading colours used focuss on the exhibition areas – prolog, relations and phenomena and furthermore facilitate the orientation in the Catalogue. Interviews with film people will describe these themes in a very personal way. The special layout of the conversations will underline these aspects.
Graphic background elements slacken the whole layout. Wide colour stripes at the top of the page will fix the sequence of pictures.
Due to its sensitive feeling for the content the Design of Catalogue has been chosen twice in sequence on the list of bests by the journal epd-film.
First presented at the Filmmuseum Berlin, the exhibition will subsequently shown in Los Angeles, Vienna and Hong Kong.
